Veteran Women
Welcome to the Women’s Veterans’ squad!
As veterans begins at 29 years of age, the squad is able to accommodate for a wide range of ages and abilities.
Important factors for the squad include:
- Improving fitness – including core stability
- Improving technical rowing ability
- Competing
- Getting out on the water
- Rowing as part of a squad
- Enjoying rowing!
Criteria for the squad – the squad is for competent rowers who are able to scull/row in different boats. We are aiming to compete but also recognise that there is life outside rowing and hence the emphasis is on ensuring people have the option of training at a level that suits their needs. We are ‘grown-up people’ and can make grown-up decisions about how we structure training. Hence the squad will and does have a mix of people who want to train to a high/medium and sustainable level. Indeed members of the squad have competed at Open Henley and intend to compete in Masters Events. Regattas, Head and International Events are also on the agenda. Boats will be matched accordingly but the emphasis will be on ensuring people get out on the water and feel included. We look forward to meeting you at the club.
