Social Scullers
Social Scullers are a friendly, mixed gender group of scullers varying in age from twenty all the way to around seventy. Our membership ranges from those who only scull once a week recreationally to those who scull several times a week and aspire to compete. We socialise in the bar after every outing!
Our outings are held on Sunday mornings all year round at 9.45am and generally include some technique coaching and physical exercise. Outings are also held at other times through personal arrangements within the squad, with some members sculling on Saturdays and weekday evenings (during summer).
All members are expected to become qualified steerers and will be coached to do so with both theoretical instruction and practical coaching on the water. Members are also required to perform squad administration duties on a rotational basis - generally this will come round to you less than once a year and is a weekly five minute task.
Newcomers are welcome but must have a knowledge of the basics of sculling and be able to function competently in a crew.
