Social Scullers
The Social Scullers are currently a non-racing mixed gender group of rowers & scullers of varied ages.
Newcomers are welcome but must have knowledge of the basics of sculling. Complete beginners are not suitable for this group. Members are not prevented from also belonging to other squads.
Outings generally take place on Sunday mornings and tend to include some technique coaching & some physical exercise. All members are expected to take their turn in steering & organising.
We scull mainly, in quads, coxed quads, doubles and singles. Occasionally, we will row in an 8.
Recently, the group has also started organising sculling sessions on Saturdays – some members go out in the morning while others go out in the afternoon depending on what suits them best.
Some members have expressed an interest in racing and will be taking this forward themselves with others in the group who are interested. Watch this space for any pots!
The Social Scullers are a mixed bag, very friendly and normally found in the bar after their Sunday outings. They tend to be free spirits with a pretty flexible set up.
