Development Men
The Men’s Development Squad aims to develop talent to represent the club at regattas across the country. Most of the squad are “graduates” of our popular learn to row courses although we welcome novice rowers joining from other clubs or returning to the sport after a break.
We are pleased that a number of our senior squad who have represented the club at Henley learnt to row at the club and moved up through the development squad.
The dev squad train 4-6 times a week. During the weekday evenings, work is focused on aerobic fitness and strength, and fully supervised double water outings on Sunday afternoon develop the technical aspect.
Outside of training, their is scope to get involved on the social side and the scale of events can accommodate most peoples appetites outside of the gruelling training regime! From a few beers after a race right up to every Thursday night after circuits and all the annual club events there are plenty of good times to be had.
If you have rowed or coxed before and are interested in joining please contact the Men’s Senior Squad captain menscaptain@putneytownrc.co.uk
If you have never rowed or coxed, and would like to learn, you can apply to the next beginners course. Please keep checking the learn to row page to find out when the next course will be run - if you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please email the Men’s Captain menscaptain@putneytownrc.co.uk
