Putney Town Rowing Club

Putney Town takes its social life as seriously as its rowing and we have events throughout the year. Listed below are some of the regular major socials that happen every year, but other events are often arranged around major sporting occasions such as Rugby World Cup.

Of course, it almost goes without saying that there are always a few drinks to be had after the major rowing races

Burns Night Quiz - January

Come along for a few drinks with haggis, tatties and neeps, oh and a quiz night too.

The Boat Race - March / April

Located at the finish of the racecourse, Putney Town’s club house offers one of the best locations to watch the race. Save yourself the frustration of fighting with the crowds to get a drink around Putney and Hammersmith and come and enjoy the race on the big screen with ample space and easy access to the bar then hop out a few minutes before the end to see the crews coming under Barnes Bridge. Not to be missed!

Annual Dinner Dance - April

The annual event when we get to peel off our all-in-ones and dress up for the night to reflect on our achievement and celebrate the club.

PTRC @ Henley - June/July

Putney Town descends on Henley Royal Regatta for an afternoon picnic, a glass or two of Pimms and maybe a spot of spectating.

Summer BBQ - August

The event that marks the height of the season of food cremation in-between the summer regattas.

President’s Cheese & Wine

Tis the season to be Merry! With the President supplying the wine, and plenty of beer on tap, it’s the perfect end to the year with Putney Town. Proceeded by the annual Christmas Pudding races - where randomly selected crews are pulled from santa’s hat and raced outside the clubhouse.
