Announcement: New women’s head coach

We are delighted to announce that Jamie Croly will be the new Women’s Head Coach at Putney Town for the 2016/17 season.

Jamie joins us from Thames Rowing Club, where he was the lead coach for the women’s squad for the 2015/16 season. During the season his crews came 6th (their highest placing in 3 years) and 30th at WeHORR, and reached the quarter and semi finals of the senior and elite events at HWR. They also had wins at Upper Thames, Fours, Teddington and Hammersmith Heads and wins at Wallingford, Nottingham and Metropolitan Regattas.

Before Thames, Jamie coached in the USA and in his home country of South Africa. He has coached athletes from domestic through to international level.

Jamie replaces last season’s coach, Iain Mandale, who is leaving the club to become a full time athlete in Henley. The club would like to thank Iain for all of his hard work and dedication that made 2015/16 such a successful season and left the squad in such a promising position for the start of this season.

Welcome to Putney Town, Jamie!

The women’s squad are holding their season starter meeting on Saturday. All experienced rowers and coxes welcome.

Squad Season Starter Meeting: 07:15, Saturday 10th September (this Saturday). Bring yourselves, notebook and pen, and kit for a water-session.
